How to Claim Dietitian Services

The two main methods for claiming dietitian services include direct billing and reimbursement.

Reimbursement

You can pay for the services first and then get reimbursement through your insurance plan when direct billing is not available.

The process typically involves:

  1. You need to pay for your dietitian appointment when you receive the service.

  2. Keep your receipt which contains essential information such as date of service and provider name and cost.

  3. You need to send your receipt to your insurance provider through their specified online or mail submission process.

Direct Billing

The insurance plans that support direct billing enable dietitians to send claims directly to your insurance provider for your session costs. Through this method you avoid paying in advance so the process becomes faster and simpler.

I do not provide direct billing services at present but I can create a detailed receipt which you can use to request reimbursement from your insurance provider.
